I just replayed two weeks ago or so. It was truly an experience in modern times where we can’t really disconnect ourselves from the internet. To play PS2 era games on PS2 and not worry about notifications or any kind of internet stuff, man it just made it that much more terrifying. You really, really feel alone in the world of silent hill and that feeling is something we just can’t seem to emulate in this day and age.

We can be honest and say the combat is still a little janky, but the art direction, music, story, environments, everything came rushing back to me. The hotel revelation is even harder to stomach now that I'm grown and married. Gaming will look better and play better as the years go on, but they will never mean as much as the games from this era.
PS2 main menu had me go back to this very specific mix of dread and anxiety I felt every single time this showed up instead of loaded game, since it usually meant that disc was broken or laser wouldn't work properly. A nightmare more acute than anything going on in SH.
Finding this was better than unwrapping metal gear solid on Christmas morning. My sleeping soundtrack. I dont know why but its so comical to me when she says " I'm not lying!"
